Sound Familiar?

You're not alone. And you don't have to figure it out by yourself.

Your Pitch Deck Gets No Follow-ups

You are sending your deck to investors and hearing nothing back. Something is not resonating but you cannot tell if it is the narrative, the market sizing, the ask, or all three.

You Do Not Speak Investor Language

TAM, SAM, SOM, burn rate, runway, dilution, cap table, the fundraising vocabulary is intimidating and you are afraid of looking uninformed in front of experienced VCs.

Term Sheets Are Confusing and High-Stakes

You received a term sheet but cannot tell if the terms are fair. Liquidation preferences, pro-rata rights, board seats, every clause has implications you do not fully understand.

Learn From Engineers at Top Companies

Your next mentor could be a senior engineer at Google, a tech lead at Meta, or a principal at Amazon.

Got Questions?

Everything you need to know about Fundraising & Pitch Prep

At what stage should I start preparing to fundraise?
Start preparing at least 2-3 months before you plan to actively raise. You need time to refine your narrative, build a target investor list, get warm introductions, and practice your pitch. Your mentor will help you build a fundraising timeline and checklist specific to your stage.
Do I need traction to raise a pre-seed or seed round?
Pre-seed rounds can be raised on team strength and idea alone, though some evidence of market interest helps enormously. Seed rounds typically require some form of traction: users, revenue, waitlists, or LOIs. Your mentor will help you identify what traction signals matter most for your stage and sector.
How many investors should I talk to?
Plan to pitch 30-60 investors for a seed round. The goal is to create momentum and competition between interested investors. Your mentor will help you build a tiered target list: practice pitches first, then tier-2 firms, then your top choices when you are sharpest.
Can a mentor help me negotiate my term sheet?
Yes. Your mentor will walk you through the key terms: valuation, liquidation preferences, board composition, anti-dilution provisions, and vesting, and help you understand what is standard versus what is worth negotiating. For final legal review, you should also engage a startup-focused attorney.
What if I decide not to raise and want to bootstrap instead?
That is a perfectly valid decision and your mentor can help you evaluate it. Many successful companies bootstrap to profitability. Your mentor will help you compare the fundraising and bootstrapping paths for your specific business model, growth expectations, and personal financial situation.
